Why imran khan join politics

In its 70 years, it has been ruled intermittently by political dynasties and the military. Khan, of course, has many critics. On a more personal level, his second wife, to whom he was married for less than a year has written a tell-all book. Khan does not come out of it well at all. But his first wife, the British heiress Jemima Goldsmith, the mother of his two sons — to whom he was married for nearly a decade — publicly congratulated Khan on his victory.

Dr Riffat Jabeen. Aameen sum Aameen. You like him, OR you hate him, one just CANNOT ignore that amazing journey this man has been through- a mixture of great disappointments and achievements, and the story goes on. It remains to be seen whether he delivers on his commitments to the nation or not, but no one, after creation of Pakistan, has gone through this long a struggle and achieved what he wanted; the opportunity to lead the country- may the country be blessed!

Owais Mangal. Beginning of the new era under a clean and honest ruler, Imran Khan. Amer Rao. Indeed, An inspiration and a symbol of dedication and commitment! De facto politician. No one is perfect. But Imran will deliver. PM Sahab, that sounds good. You are aware of the problems, if you need real feed back please contact the awam of Pakistan who is hungry for change. Best of Luck we are with you to make it a wellfare state for the people of Pakistan in particular and Islamic Ummah in general. Let him live and let him try to improve the standard of life of the mass people of his country. He has nothing to gain more for his personal life.

Magnanimous approach Jemima was a non entity till she married IK. Guess she realizes that to this day and being from an educated background wants to make up for not having stuck around despite being a mother of his two sons. If it is anyone, must be his dead mother to whom he listened to for the first time by marrying an apparently a better match. Perhaps, Imran Khan still does not trust Chaudhris of Gujrat and does not want them to grab the Punjab.

In , Imran Khan contested the election and publicly apologised for supporting Musharraf from to This was something rare. He got a lot of media attention, not only because he was the World Cup hero but also because of the absence of Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto. He believed his party would do well. I have interviewed people at your gatherings. Khan has since then proved his detractors wrong about his political future. Secondly, in the absence of Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated on December 27, , the party lost the charm of a charismatic leader.

Zardari, despite completing his full term, misread the PPP mindset in the Punjab. Just before the general elections, Imran Khan went for party election and soon witnessed serious rifts in his party, particularly in the Punjab. He also developed a reputation as something of a playboy on the London nightclub circuit, though he denies that he ever drank alcohol or engaged in any activities that may be considered inappropriate for a conservative Pakistani Muslim.

Many say his subsequent forays into the fields of philanthropy and politics were fuelled by a desire to put to use the leadership qualities and goodwill he acquired as a cricketer. His pin-up looks and private life have ensured he's been a favourite of the world's media for decades. In , at the age of 43, he married the year-old British heiress, Jemima Goldsmith - the daughter of one of the world's richest men at the time, Sir James Goldsmith.

The marriage produced two boys but was dissolved in The split was amicable, and Mr Khan appears to have maintained a friendly relationship with his ex-wife. A second marriage in , to journalist Reham Khan, lasted less than a year. The former BBC weather presenter alleges she was bullied by his supporters and has written a tell-all memoir. It has been making waves in Pakistan, where its publication was put on hold by the courts in the run-up to the election.

Mr Khan wed again in in a low-profile ceremony in Lahore. His third wife Bushra Watto, a mother of five, was described as his spiritual adviser, and observers say the match plays well with his public shows of devotion to Islam. As a politician, Imran Khan's views have often shifted or been vague. Many accuse him of U-turns. What he will actually do in power is largely unclear.
