Which animals have clavicles

We believe that with focus and intention we can influence the making of our dreams to come true. We believe in Karma. We believe in the power of prayer, affirmations, goal setting, and plans of action.

The act of wishing is valuable in itself. Wishing, choosing what to wish for, helps us define what we want. When our goals are definable, they are attainable. And, once a year, we allow our hopes and dreams to ride on the snap of the clavicle of a toasted turkey. The wishbone.

The wishbone is a forked bone found in birds and some other animals. The clavicle in mammals is part of the axial skeleton. Its location is directly above the first rib. Place your thumb and forefinger around the base of your neck and the bones you feel when you press downward are your clavicles. Medially, it articulates with the manubrium of the sternum top of the breast-bone at the sternoclavicular joint.

At its lateral end it articulates with the acromion of the scapula shoulder blade at the acromioclavicular joint. The clavicle in mammals serves several functions. The clavicle is a sigmoid-shaped long bone with a convex surface along its medial end when observed from cephalad position.

It serves as a connection between the axial and appendicular skeleton in conjunction with the scapula , and each of these structures forms the pectoral girdle. The clavicle is called as the beauty bone because of its predominant location in the body. It is the only horizontal long bone that is present in our body and together with the shoulder blade, it forms the shoulder girdle.

Your collarbone or clavicle is the bone that runs horizontally between the top of your breastbone sternum and shoulder blade scapula. You can feel your collarbone by touching the area between your neck and your shoulder. A broken collarbone , also called a clavicle fracture, is when this bone breaks.

According to new research, having a visible or prominent collarbone is deemed to be one of the most desirable body features, alongside a toned stomach and bottom. According to the results of a new study, over a third of British women admit to wanting to achieve the controversial look.

Clavicle is a modified long bone having two curves. It is the only long bone of human body that lies horizontally in its natural position. Like all long bones , it has two ends. The lateral end articulates with the acromion process of scapula and the medial end articulates with the sternum and first costal cartilage. The collarbone serves several functions: It serves as a rigid support from which the scapula and free limb suspended; an arrangement that keeps the upper limb away from the thorax so that the arm has maximum range of movement.

While humans, have a collarbone connecting the arms to the trunk of the body, dogs have just a rudimentary collarbone that does not articulate with the rest of the skeleton. The motions are usually associated with elevation and depression of the scapula.

The reason that dogs don't have actual collar bones is purely functional. The collarbone lies at the root of the neck. It provides support to the arms so that they can move and hang freely; however, if the bone endures a fracture, one may be unable to move her arms. I wonder if a fractured collarbone makes it more difficult to push people away. Few have taken notice of this part of my body.

Cats have free-floating clavicle bones. The first group is characterized by two curvatures, an inferior and a superior Apes, Spider monkeys. The second included monkeys, whose clavicles have an inferior curvature much more pronounced than the superior one. The third group includes only Hylobates, whose clavicles possess only the superior curvature. The last group includes only modern humans, whose clavicles show only the inferior curvature, which is less pronounced than that which exists in monkeys.
