Where is vespa serial number

It is stamped on the upper lip where the catch engages. V9A1T which denotes the model, then a star and a 4 to 6 digit number with a star at the end which denotes the year. Engine: Looking at the rear of the bike, look on the rear face of the engine casing to see the engine serial number just to the left of the transmission oil fill hole.

V9A1M which denotes the model, then a star and a 4 to 6 digit number with a star at the end which denotes the year.

Vespa Large Frame - 60's - 70's with fixed left hand panel glovebox. Frame: The left hand side cowl is attached on these models and the frame serial number is stamped on the frame at the underside of the side cowl where it hits the body, above the rear wheel. Lay on your belly facing the engine, looking across the kick start lever, just behind the big bolt. Extending from the engine forward to the big bolt is a mounting arm. It may be partially obscured by the bend in the exhaust.

On the center of the face of the mounting arm is a flat space upon which the number is stamped. The mounting arm and the number are probably covered in dirt and grease so you'll have to wipe it off with a rag. Do you see the number? That's it. Posted by scooter at PM.

The empty-cowl compartment does not house the spare tire, the spare tire was located behind the passenger seat on a bracket.

I looked on the engine-side, near the rear hole where the cowl fits into, can't find any serial number around there. I've tried my best to look at the engine covers and around the muffler port, but can't find any numbers. It looks to be an early 60s VNB, cc. The serial number is located below the glove box cowl, right on the edge of the frame. It usually has a star before and after the VIN. Last edited by Killo on Wed May 06, am; edited 1 time in total.

Rover Eric. If i had to guess, that's a '62 VNB. It's the second one i've seen with that dark blue metallic paint on it. I wouldn't ride it until that gets welded up and reinforced.
